Features Controls hydrocephalus using a three-stage valve mechanism, automatically transitioning from "differential pressure or DP" to flow regulation as conditions require. Conditions favor siphoning, the OSV II valve mechanism automatically transitions to Stage II, functioning as a flow regulator to maintain flow within physiological limits based upon normal rates of CSF production. Flow-regulating stage (Stage I) balances drainage rates at the approximate CSF secretion rates automatically, without being affected by subcutaneous tissue pressures or fibrosis and valve position.
Description OSV II Smart ValveTM, Hakim, H-V Lumbar Valve system is the intelligent choice for meeting the complex demands of hydrocephalus shunting. Automatic pressure response causes the valve to adjust automatically to the conditions present, eliminating the need for pressure range changes or reprogramming.
