  • The linearity of specimen dilution demonstrates a correlation coefficientof>0.993 with a mean recovery of 99%.
  • Unlike other tests, NMP22 values are not affected by gross hematuria and common intravesical treatments such as BCG or thiotepa.
  • The dual monoclonal antibody assay is supplied in microwell format.
  • Results are read on a microplate reader at 490 nm.
Description The NMP22® Test Kit is a quantitative microplate enzyme immunoassay that can identify bladder cancer patients who are at risk for rapid recurrence or occult disease. The test is performed on a single voided urine sample and is twice as sensitive as urine cytology. Urologists can use NMP22 values to improve patient outcome by identifying those patients who may benefit from more or less aggressive management. NMP22 is a Nuclear Matrix Protein found in human epithelial cells. In the urine of healthy individuals, the protein is present at low levels. The majority of patients with bladder cancer release large quantities of NMP22 into their urine.
