Description | The Model EXD explosion-proof laboratory floor model centrifuge meets UL and CSA requirements for explosion-proof apparatus. EXD is suitable for use in Class 1, Group D hazardous locations, all divisions; "atmospheres containing gasoline, petroleum, naphtha, benzol, lacquer, solvent vapors or natural gas."
Adherence to these specifications is so strict that the EXD design and manufacture must be independently audited and certified by Underwriters Laboratories. Thus, EXD is the only continuously approved laboratory explosion-proof floor model centrifuge in the world. What makes the EXD unique?
A common sight in laboratories with flammable vapors, Model EXD Explosion-Proof Centrifuge have been providing rugged, dependable centrifuge standards for decades in industrial testing facilities and laboratories. The Model EXD simple, classic design and quality construction continue to make the Size 2 a standard for centrifuge performance, reliability and value. Designed for around-the-clock dependability, this durable centrifuge easily withstands the rigors of second and third shift operations. The current version Model EXD incorporates a Safety Cover Interlock to meet current interpretations of OSHA regulations regarding safety requirements for rotating devices. Model EXD provides the ideal alternative for flammable vapor locations where explosion-proof standards are required. Petroleum and chemical company facilities rely on the Model EXD for specialized centrifugation requirements that other units cannot provide. Hundreds of accessory combinations are available, including specialized rotors for oil testing, up to 6 liters sample capacity and up to 408 x 5 ml (12x75 mm) tubes. Optional heating jacket provides heat centrifugation conditions with control to 150oF. This is especially advantages for performing ASTM test method D-4007 and purifying impurities in chemicals, solid at room temperature. EXD is not tested for explosion-proof certification under heated centrifugation conditions. |
