METRx X-Tube Retraction System

ProductsMETRx X-Tube Retraction System
Company Medtronic Neurological and Spinal
Item METRx X-Tube Retraction System
Features Provides pedicle-to-pedicle exposure. Allows surgeon to expand the operative field from a diameter of 2.5 cm to 4.0 cm. Reduces chances of complications resulting from poor visual. Facilitates the use of multiple modes of visualization: microscope, loupes, endoscope, naked eye. Coupled with the Radiance X Illumination System, integrated light source, provides an excellent source of visualization (whether working with microscope, loupes, endoscope, or the naked eye), even eliminating the need for a headlamp. Smaller scars (smaller incisions), less postoperative pain, less recovery time.
Description The METRx Microdiscectomy System incorporates specially designed metal tubes that allow surgeons to access a surgical area in a minimally invasive manner. These tubes, called dilators, vary in diameter size from 5.3 mm to 20.8 mm. The METRx Microdiscectomy System dilators are inserted sequentially - one around the other - through the muscle to gradually separate, or split, the muscle fibers, creating an opening sufficiently large enough for surgical tools and instruments to be inserted.
