Description Exceptional Performance
MARS Technology is the next generation in pulse oximetry monitoring from Novametrix. As an addition to our current family of "digital pulse oximeters, MARSpO2 takes advantage of new technological breakthroughs in signal processing. This provides improved analysis of the pulse signal resulting in superior performance during challenging clinical conditions such as motion or low perfusion.

Novametrix offers this new technology as part of our unique Cost Capitation Program which can reduce pulse oximetry operating costs by 40-60% over traditional "disposable sensor programs.

Data and Alarms when you Really Need Them!
There are two problems which have plagued traditional pulse oximeters; the need to obtain readings under adverse conditions and the ability to alarm only when appropriate.Due to limited technology, it is difficult for traditional pulse oximeters to read poor quality signals. Because of this the pulse oximeter may blank its display and alarm or display erratic values while it searches for a good quality signal. MARS technology provides reliable readings more often even in the presence of excessive motion or low perfusion.During our product validation process, three pulse oximeters were tested under simulated conditions of low and high frequency motion and varying signal strength conditions. Table 1 shows the MARS technology outperformed the other monitors under these conditions.Table 1. Percentage of time during motion in which no value was available or the value exceeded the default alert limits.
