| Description | The KRONUS OptiQuant™ Thyroglobulin (OQTg) Kit is intended for the quantitative determination of thyroglobulin (Tg) in human serum as an aid in the detection of local and metastatic thyroid tissue in patients who have had thyroid gland ablation (using thyroid surgery with or without radioiodine) and who lack serum thyroglobulin antibodies.
The OQTg procedure is a coated tube immunoradiometric assay which is standardized against the BCR Thyroglobulin Reference Preparation CRM457. Calibrators, controls or patient specimens, along with I125 anti-human thyroglobulin (mouse monoclonal IgG subclass 2ak), are allowed to incubate overnight with the primary antiserum coated on the tubes (mouse monoclonal IgG subclass 1k), during which time the Tg present is sandwiched between the antisera. After incubation, the tubes are decanted, washed and counted. The concentration of Tg is directly proportional to the bound counts. |
