Description The IDI-Strep B test can lower healthcare costs with better newborn care and reduced patient hospital stays. By identifying mothers colonized with group B streptococcus (GBS), the test enables more targeted and effective antibiotic prophylaxis. This can prevent illness in a greater number of infants and reduce unnecessary antibiotic use in uncolonized women and the emergence of antibiotic-resistant GBS strains.

Exceeding the performance criteria of the latest CDC guidelines, the IDI-Strep B assay can be used to establish GBS colonization status in pregnant women at any time for recommended screening at 35-37 weeks, or to provide results within one hour at the time of delivery.
