Description Using ion implantation to manufacture the I-Plant Iodine-125 seed, Implant Sciences' proprietary method buries pure isotopes of non-radioactive Xenon-124 gas beneath the surface of the seed core matrix material. The non-radioactive dry fabrication process enables the inventory of seed cores in large quantities, compared to the radioactive wet chemistry method of manufacturing existing Iodine-125 and Palladium-103 seeds. Implant Sciences sends the seed cores to a nuclear reactor for activation followed by final assembly, testing, and assaying.
