ProductsGDC Detachable Coils
Company Boston Scientific Corporation
Item GDC Detachable Coils
Features Clinically Proven
  • Since its introduction over a decade ago, physicians have selected GDC Detachable Coils to treat more than 120,000 patients worldwide. This clinical record represents the deployment of more than 600,000 GDC coils.

  • Motion-Free Detachment
  • All GDC Coils utilize an exclusive electrolytic detachment process for coil deployment. Because the process does not rely on mechanical movement to deploy the coil, the result is precise, motion-free detachment.

  • Commitment to Innovation
  • Boston Scientific is the worldwide leader in minimally invasive products for treatment of neurovascular disease. We are committed to providing physicians with the most advanced products available.

  • SR FLEX Technology
  • All stretch-resistant coils feature an articulated anchor chain that dramatically increases proximal coil flexibility and facilitates coil deployment.
  • Description The Guglielmi Detachable Coil is intended for: embolization of those intracranial aneurysms that - because of their morphology, their location, or the patient's general medical condition - are considered by the treating neurosurgical team to be a) very high risk for management by traditional operative techniques, or b) inoperable. The GDC is also intended for embolization of other neuro vascular abnormalities such as arteriovenous malformations and arteriovenous fistulae. The GDC is also intended for arterial and venous embolizations in the peripheral vasculature.

Only Boston Scientific offers a full complement of products for neurovascular embolization of aneurysms. Our extensive selection of GDC Coil designs and sizes, available in 10 and 18 delivery platforms, provides the physician with a choice of 140 treatment options.
