    • Description FlexNet adds wireless capability to Welch Allyn's comprehensive hardwired patient network. This expands the Flexible Monitoring concept to provide vital signs data and patient information from anywhere to anywhere. FlexNet links multiple devices such as ambulatory wireless monitors and hardwired and wireless bedside monitors to Acuity® Central Monitoring Stations.

    FlexNet uses Symbol Technology's Spectrum24® radio module that operates in the 2.4 GHz band using spread-spectrum modulation. This technology conforms to IEEE 802.11 wireless Ethernet LAN standards and is capable of supporting heavily burdened packets of voice and data from multiple devices. Using this technology allows FlexNet to support comprehensive patient monitoring networks while providing superior noise tolerance and communications integrity. FlexNet can coexist with the hospital network or be installed as a separate network.
