  • Fully automated quantification of NT-proBNP - The Elecsys proBNP assay provides quantification of the N-terminal prohormone of B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), a direct marker for ventricular (dys)function, without interference from certain drug therapies. It is fully automated and compatible with routine laboratory testing.
  • Rapid results - Results are ready to report to physicians in as little as 18 minutes using serum or plasma (heparin, EDTA) samples, providing fast, actionable healthcare information.
  • Cost-effective diagnosis and therapy - Elecsys proBNP helps to identify patients requiring further cardiac assessment, leading to more cost-effective use of echocardiography.
  • Improvement of patient management - Quantification of NT-proBNP helps to identify high risk patients (e.g. mortality, re-hospitalization) which may require more intensive care. Monitoring of NT-proBNP levels may also help to optimize or tailor patient's therapy" to avoid over- or under-treatment.
Description A fast, reliable and accurate immunoassay for the quantification of NT-proBNP in serum and plasma. The fully automated Elecsys proBNP assay helps to rule-out efficiently heart failure in symptomatic patients. NT-proBNP levels also indicate the severity of the disease and allow the assessment of prognosis. In addition, NT-proBNP facilitates monitoring, allowing for the optimization and fine-tuning of treatment.
