Description As opposed to the BIOM, the CWF and autoclaveable ADP contact lenses make contact with the eye and require a contact medium such as methyl cellulose.

For those surgeons who have someone to hold a contact lens steady, these lenses make a good inexpensive alternative to the BIOM system. These lenses have an available detachable handle or may be used with a sew on contact lens ring. The average observation field for either lens is 130 degrees. Slight tilting of the lenses make the who area between the posterior pole and the pars plana visible. Fluid gas exchanges are easily imaged.

This type of viewing system is usually recommended for the budget minded clinic.
