Features The only 3-day sensor for at-home use:
  • No other continuous glucose monitoring system features a sensor that can be used for 72 hours during a patients daily activities.
  • Residing inside a permeable membrane, the flexible, platinum-plated electrode offers accurate measurements that are proven to correlate to fingerstick values.1
  • This sensor, inserted just under the skin on the abdomen, sends an interstitial glucose measurement to the monitor every 10 seconds. A patented insertion device makes placing the sensor virtually painless for your patients.
A reliable, easy-to-wear monitor:
  • The monitor, worn discreetly like a pager on your patients belt or in a pocket, records an average glucose value every five minutes.
  • To calibrate the monitor, patients enter their self-monitored blood glucose readings four times each day.
  • Patients can also enter meals, exercise, medication and other events that are incorporated into the reports.
CGMS Solutions software for rapid interpretation:
  • Using the ComStation, you can quickly download the monitor data to your computer.
  • CGMS Solutions Software then simplifies analysis by organizing all the data into easy-to-read charts, graphs and tables.
  • These visual examples are also important informational tools because patients can see the effects of meals, exercise, insulin and medication on their blood glucose levels.
    Description The comprehensive data provided by the CGMS System Gold can assist you in designing an individualized diabetes treatment program based on detailed glycemic profiles. Its also a useful educational tool that can improve motivation and collaboration with patients.1

    While the system may be used effectively with all diabetes patients, it may be of particular use in evaluating the following conditions and situations:
  • Elevated glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c)
  • Hypoglycemic episodes2 and unawareness
  • Hyperglycemic episodes
  • Diabetic ketoacidosis
  • Unexplained blood glucose excursions
  • Gastroparesis
  • Gestational diabetes, preconception, pregnancy and nursing
  • Evaluation of therapeutic changes to medication regimen
  • Evaluation of behavioral modifications affecting glycemic control
  • Patients undergoing erythropoietin therapy because HbA1c may be unreliable.
