    • Description When it comes to ventral hernia repair, there's a lot that needs to be said. While a hernia is often best treated with a prosthesis, for some ventral hernia applications there's concern about the risk of bowel adhesions to currently available products. Fortunately, we have Bard Composix mesh, an innovative product designed to meet the specific demands of ventral hernia repair. Bard Composix mesh is made of Bard mesh on one side, bonded to ePTFE on the other; two clinically proven materials with truly complementary benefits. While Bard mesh provides tissue ingrowth and keeps the prosthesis in place, ePTFE acts as a barrier, preventing the Bard mesh from coming into contact with any adjacent organs - thereby minimizing the risk of adhesion to the prosthesis. Moreover, Bard Composix mesh can be used in a "tension-free" surgical technique similar to all of the products in the Bard mesh line. Bard Composix mesh is another product from Bard, an innovator in hernia repair for nearly forty years.
