ApoTome Microscope Technique from Carl Zeiss Receives Award for Innovation of the Year in 2003. This award is presented yearly to the 25 most technically innovative products of the year. In 2004, Carl Zeiss ApoTome was one of the winners of the renowned R&D 100 Awards granted every year by the R&D Magazine. Carl Zeiss received the award for a technical innovation in conventional microscopy which allows the fast, high-quality production of optical sections through fluorochromed biological specimens, e.g. for the 3D display of nerve cells. In spite of reduced costs and a less complex instrument setup, the quality of the micrographs provided by ApoTome is just as high as that from traditional techniques. |
