Features	Sterile, disposable Ventricle provides circulatory support in the presence of left-, right-, or both-sided heart failure. Console comes with a cart that can serve as a walker, allowing the patient to walk about the hospital and assisting the recovery process. Console incorporates several systems to ensure safe operation,including back up power from internal batteries, alarms that inform the clinicians as to status of operation and back-up internal software systems to ensure safe operation. In case of an emergency, a hand-operated pump allows continued support. ABIOMED systems are the most widely available and used VADs in the world. The systems are in over 600 institutions worldwide and have supported thousands of patients over the past ten years.
Description	The AB5000 Circulatory Support System consists of two principal components. The AB5000 Console is an advanced computer system that drives the blood pumps and can be used either in the hospital or for transport of patients between hospitals. The AB5000 Ventricle is a disposable blood pump capable of supporting the left, right, or both ventricles of the heart and is designed to provide improved patient mobility, comfort and ease of use.
