Features Precision molding, machining, and alignment of the VADs' internal parts coupled with the lubrication/anticoagulation system has been shown to curb blood stasis and thrombus formation by providing:
  • a fluid bearing to the impeller/rotor, the only moving part of the VAD, to reduce friction and heat generation
  • localized anticoagulation to the blood in the interior of the VAD
    • Description The AB-180 iVAD*, implantable ventricular assist device, is a surgically implantable device used by cardiac surgeons. The inflow and outflow conduits are pre-attached to the VAD and anatomically positioned to accommodate the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques.
