Women Do Not Have Access To Free Mammograms

Women in New Zealand are failing to get regular mammograms doe because of inaccessibility to the promised facilities, TVNZ reports.//

Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coalition Deputy Chairwoman Claire Ryan said that only about 19 percent of the eligible women have taken the offer for free mammograms. Ryan said that she has anecdotal evidence that the increased waiting times are responsible for this. Mammograms are important for early detection of breast abnormalities including cancer.
