When the Cup of Wine (alcohol) Revives the Spirit to Live…

Toronto- Canadian researchers seem to have uncorked a life-saving idea. When somebody is gravely injured and life// hangs in a delicate balance, alcohol levels in the blood could numb the brain and offset acute brain damage, saving life.

Doctors at Sunnybrook Health Sciences elaborated that, patients who portrayed even low levels of alcohol in their blood, had a greater chance of surviving, what could have otherwise been an irreparable brain injury, compared to those who have no alcohol in their blood.

The research does not advocate indiscriminate intake of alcohol, because patients with high concentration of alcohol in their blood, still suffered acute brain damage, as compared to those who consumed nil. The key here is moderation.

Dr Homer Tien, author of the study, said: "Low concentrations of alcohol may have the ability to reduce secondary brain injury and may therefore improve brain injury survival. The study only describes the effect of alcohol on the brain after injury occurs. I'd like to stress that alcohol remains the leading cause of preventable trauma deaths and dramatically increases the likelihood of injury and fatal injury."

Additional research is necessary to conclusively prove that alcohol could be used as a life reviving potion.
