Watch 'Live Earth' Concerts Simultaneously on the Net

Online spectators of the mega-musical event 'Live Earth' will be able to switch from Keith Urban's performance outside New York to James lunt's ballads in London with just a click of the mouse .

The website www.LiveEarth.MSN.com will provide netizens with the opportunity to watch the performances of the various stars in real-time simultaneously, a reason why it is being predicted that the event may be a record-breaker.

"We expect it to be the most highly watched entertainment event online," the Hollywood Reporter quoted MSN senior director Lisa Gurry as saying.

MSN, which is competing with television network NBC Universal, is taking the concerts to 25 overseas markets to cater to the language needs of different areas. Since some countries have more than one market with a specific language, altogether 39 markets will have simultaneous feeds available.

A team of about 80 technicians will help bring live feeds of the event on LiveEarth.MSN.com.

"You can actually watch every single show from beginning to end, up to eight shows broadcast simultaneously, and you can pick what's happening live," said Nina Guralnick, GM for Control Room, the digital entertainment distributor that also orchestrated Live 8.

"It's more like being at the concert-or all eight at the same time-but from the comfort of your own home," she added.

A crew of over 100 people would work to have on-demand video edited into editorial packages by Sunday.

"We are offering a tremendous amount of supporting content. Users will be able to watch all their favourite performances, but we've also made it easier to learn more about the artist, the cause and to engage with the community," Gurry said.
