Visitors At Taj Can Now Avail Of Medical Facilities

A twisted ankle or sudden palpitations while sightseeing around the Taj Mahal will now be promptly attended to by doctors stationed //in the complex of the 17th century monument to love.

The Archaeological Survey of India has agreed to a request by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Development Corp to provide space for a medical centre in the Taj complex.

Medical facilities will also be made available in early 2007 at the Fatehpur Sikri and other monuments, said D.K. Burman, joint director of Uttar Pradesh Tourism.

There will also be a medical van, equipped to tackle emergencies, stationed at Shilpgram, 500 metres from the Taj, he said. The Taj Mahal is India's biggest tourist draw.
