Unborn babies respond to light

In a breakthrough discovery, American researchers have found some of the first concrete evidence that babies do respond to stimuli in the womb. There have always been theories that unborn babies will respond to regimens such as 'hothousing',// where the baby is read to or played music while still in the womb.

However, the effectiveness of inventions like this has been questionable in the past because there has been little proof that unborn children can respond to things outside the womb. Now, researchers from Bethesda, Maryland, have shown that when a light is shone on to a pregnant woman's stomach the baby does actually register the light.
