Bird flu virus which has caused 76 deaths in Southeast Asia seems to have shifted its infection to Turkey which has infected 18 people in Turkey. The city of Van in eastern Turkey has experienced three deaths // due to bird flu and all of them got the virus from poultry. The people infected with the bird flu virus are treated using a combination of antibiotics, bird flu anti flu drug Tamiflu and Intravenous fluids in Van Hospital.

Turkey is a beautiful place and attracts lot of tourists from the European Union and the authorities feel that there is no reduction in tourists coming to Turkey but has urged the people from not going to bird markets and avoid contact with birds. The Turkish authority as already asked their people to cull poultry birds to prevent spread of the virus. As there is an increased concern about spread of bird flu in Turkey the authorities as to still do a lot in educating the farmers and rural people to report immediately if they have any symptoms of flu virus.
