Confusion still prevails over the death of the child in Turkey.

Cases are being reported in Ukraine and other places in South East Asia about the spread of the disease.

Bird flu has affected all the // five children in the family (Turkey). Initially the boy died after showing symptoms of pneumonia.

The hospital authorities still have not confirmed the death of the boy, probably due to H5N1 viral strain. His sister died due to the bird flu in the morning.

Laboratories in Turkey have now reported that there is two new cases but say that they need time to confirm whether it is due to H5N1 strain.

They are the first set of cases reported outside South East Asia. This has crated lot of hat it might spread and result in a pandemic.

All steps are being taken by the Turkey health authorities to check the spread of the disease. At present around 70 people are killed due to this disease.

These people were all in close association with the infected bird/ poultry. So far there still has not been any case of man-to-man transmission.

The bird flu has caused the widespread killing of birds in and around Asia.
