There is no change of plans regarding the Christmas dinner. Turkey still remains popular inspite of the bird flu scare.

The demands for Christmas turkeys have risen by 25% in Britain. Supermarket owners say that the sales of the bird //are as good as the previous year.

When bird flu was spreading and was in its peak in the month of October and November people feared that its sales will fall very sharply.

But the health officials reassure people that there was no single case of bird flu reported in Britain.

There was also no substantial evidence pointing that the disease spreads via food.

Statistics show that in the previous year 72% had turkey for their Christmas meal.

There has not been much of difference in the sales of turkey for the current year (68%).2181 people are planning to eat turkey for Christmas dinner.

This should give a lot of confidence to those people who were worried about the result of the bird flu scare.

The first set of Christmas turkeys have already arrived in the markets and the sales are good.

Apart from turkeys Brussels sprouts have shown an increase in sales by 15% this year. Supermarket owners say that the new growing techniques have made them less bitter and they have acquired a nutty flavor. The sprouts are now liked even by children.
