Researchers have found out that the traditional factors that could cause risk of death from heart failures are// more fatal than the newer risk factors that are being found out in the recent past.

In an elderly population with chronic kidney disease, traditional heart risk factors may be diabetes, systolic high blood pressure, left ventricular hypertrophy, or smoking. It had been found out that the risk of death from cardiovascular causes is more from these factors than from comparatively newer factors like elevated levels of C-reactive protein, fibrinogen, and the blood clotting protein factor VIIIc.

Chronic kidney disease is a condition where the kidneys are not functioning properly to separate the blood from the waste. This is often a known risk factor for cardiac disease.

The researchers for the study, which is published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, said that all this means that elderly people having chronic kidney ailments need to be more careful about the traditional factors that can cause a heart failure or stroke than of newer risks.

Some of the proven preventive measures of the traditional risk factors for cardiac arrests are adequate management of high blood glucose and high blood pressure, increasing physical activity etc.
