The Patna High Court has order three neuro-surgeons to examine RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin in Siwan jail and report to the court in three weeks. //The MP has repeatedly requested the court to allow doctors to examine his spinal problem and give appropriate treatment.

Justice Chandramauli Kumar Prasad has annointed Dr AK Jain of AIIMS, Dr Maniyar of Beach Candy in Mumbai and Dr Vikram Kashyap Sagar Apollo in Bangalore to visit Siwan and examine Shahbuddin. These three doctors were chosen from a list of 11 submitted to the judge by Shahabuddin's counsel YV Giri.

State government advocate Uday Bhanu Rai told the court that state doctors had examined him five times and did not feel the need for outside consultants.

Shahabuddin is implicated in many cases of kidnapping, murder, violations of Arms Act and Wildlife Act. He told the court that he was suffering from a chronic spinal problem and that it had gotten worse since May 10.
