A Pakistani channel ARY TV, has revealed that the champagne bottles which contained the weed killer that poisoned Pakistans former cricket coach Bob Woolmer, was in fact handed over to him by a person well known to him-bowling coach Mustaq Ahmed.
The channel also mentioned that the team manager Talat Ali was witness to this.
It is being speculated that both Mustaq Ahmed and Talat Ali knew the person or persons who handed over the champagne bottles. This revelation comes from Pakistans media manager for the world cup, Pervez Mir.
Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer was found dead in his room at Pegasus hotel in Jamaica, a day after the shock defeat of Pakistan by fledgling team Ireland.
According to ARY TV reports, both Talat Ali and the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf, have refused to comment on the mater.
The television channel also reported that one champagne bottle was empty and the other was not used.
According to Mir, Woolmer used to drink beer and he rarely consumed champagne.
Former leg spinner Mustaq Ahmed is allegedly an activist of Tablighi Jamaat, an Islamic religious outfit, and former skipper Inzamam-ul Haq had come under criticism for taking Ahmed on as a bowling coach.
