Ten Accused On Allergy Shot Scam

Ten people including four doctors have been accused of cheating insurance companies for more than $1.5 million. This group was involved in giving allergy shots to many// patients without conducting proper tests and in unhygienic conditions.

Patients were also not informed about the risk factors before giving the shots. Blood obtained from the patients for testing procedures were not sent to the lab at the right time. Injections were administered by unqualified people.

John Froelich, 49, of suburban Harwood Heights, and Paul Kocourek, 53, of Chicago were arrested in connection with this case. According to the prosecutors Froelich worked in connivance with many companies especially the American Institute of Allergy while Kocourek represented American Institute of Allergy and was involved in tendering false claims to insurance companies.

Froelich and Kocourek were released on producing an unsecured bond for $100,000 in the federal court on 15th of February. Summons will be issued to other defendants soon.
