Teething Problems – Fight Sugar For Children’s Dental Healh

Timing and frequency has never been so important when it comes to dental care in children. It appears that these factors are extremely crucial in offsetting cavities and tooth decay, according to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD). //

In the words of Dr. Phil Hunke, representing AAPD "Most parents know that they need to watch what their kids eat and make them brush regularly. Unfortunately, many are not aware that letting kids sip on sugary drinks for hours or putting them to bed with a bottle of milk can be just as harmful. These habits can expose teeth to sugar for extended periods of time, increasing the risk of tooth decay.”

The AAPD has offered some useful hints that will give teeth to your efforts in cutting down the frequency and duration of sugar exposure among young children:

1. Did you know that only water is worthy of being sipped? No sipping on sugary drinks or munching on sweetened foods

2. No hitting the sack with a can of milk, because milk can also cause tooth decay. 3. Teeth cannot do with an overdose of candy. The least you can do to avert harm after candies, is to get the child to brush his teeth.

4. Flossing must be as regular as a bath and it is a healthy habit to brush after meals and snacks
