( Mr Justice Silber is to give his verdic...)Teenage Girls May Not Need Parents Consent For Abortion,Health

Mr Justice Silber is to give his verdict over the right of teenage under-16s girl to have abortion without their parents consent or knowledge. The case which has been brought by Ms Axon as one of her daughter is 5 months pregnant. //

The family planning association told the court that parents are mostly out dated and their views about contraception use and abortion does not match the views of their children’s. Law has been introduced which says that it is not necessary for teenage children’s to get permission or consent from their parents before performing an abortion.

Nathalie Lieven, FPA said, "Parents were no longer necessarily the best people to advise a child", and that the traditional "paternalistic approach" that assumed they were ran contrary to social changes in Europe over the last 20 years.

Ms Lieven, argued in favor of the Government Law say that the child is not interested to inform its parents because due to not a good relationship or trust over her parents and she is not confident over her parents and it is the right of the child to have her confidentiality of her life and she said, 'They may be highly loving parents, or have extremely strict views on under-age sex, or extremely strict views on abortion, or teenagers having babies.'
