Sunlight Could Be Beneficial For Certain Types Of Cancer

Exposure to the sun can cause skin cancer – melanoma ,however researchers as the number of patients with skin cancer has increased, so has the number of patients surviving the disease. // Two new studies show sun exposure may have a beneficial influence on some kinds of cancer. In a study conducted by researchers on patients who were diagnosed with melanoma in the late 1980s it was discovered that melanoma patients with higher levels of sun exposure were less likely to die.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma has also been on the rise worldwide, and it has been suggested increasing ultraviolet radiation and sun exposure may be responsible. To test this theory, researchers looked at sun exposure in lymphoma patients . Researchers found increased exposure to UV radiation through sunlight was associated with a decrease, rather than an increase, in the risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Thus In conclusion researchers say further studies of sunlight and the vitamin D connection to cancer are warranted .
