Strong possibility of delaying the progress of Alzheimer’s exist,

According to a new study, it is possible to delay the progress of Alzheimer’s disease in people who are suffering from mild cognitive impairment by some chemical agents. //

In the New England Journal of Medicine, researchers have reported that drugs will be able to hold at bay the progress of Alzheimer’s. This is especially true when the patients are suffering from mild cognitive impairment. The family of the patients need to be involved as they will have to get the patient to a medical professional and start on the medication that could slow down the progress of Alzheimer’s even as early in the state of cognitive impairment as memory loss.

The researchers for the study had examined the effect of donepezil and vitamin E on the delayed diagnosis of Alzheimer’s. of the people in the study, a group of people diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) with apolipoprotein E-4 (APOE-?4) were benefited from delayed onset of Alzheimer’s. apolipoprotein E-4 is the only known genetic factor that makes people in the high risk category for Alzheimer’s.

The study also had found out that mild cognitive impairment can be predicting the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.
