South-East People Scared of Hepatitis B

About 1,000 people treated in two hospitals in south-east countries - Waterford Regional Hospital and Wexford General Hospital are at risk of having Hepatitis B, said the Health authorities //.

So patients in those 2 hospitals will have to be tested for confirmation through blood results. People whom visited that hospital between the period of January 2005 and February 2006 were suspected to have the disease.

People whom numbered around 1,000 came into contact with the affected people have less chance of getting infected – said the Health Service Executives.

Liver is the part, which usually gets affected by the virus and takes about 6 months to recover from the severe stage. But this assures immunity throughout the lifetime.
