South Australia Coughs Up $1.7m on Health

To protect health workers against any pandemic or influenza outbreak, South Australia is coughing up nearly $1.7 million, the Health Minister, Mr. John Hill said//. The fund would assist in the procurement of protective gears and necessary equipments that would be necessary to fight a potential influenza outbreak.

This step was imperative because, if the outbreak was uncontrollable, nearly 25% of South Australians could become sick within a span of eight weeks of the outbreak. They have put forward a plan of instituting fever clinics that will cater to containing the spread of disease as well as lessen the burden for state run hospitals.
