Sob Story: Women Woefully Depressed

It’s pretty common to feel down in the dumps, and under weather, when the weather is down- winter, when we do feel really low. But there is a huge gap between feeling low and depression, according to Mental Health Specialists. //

Depression affects nearly one in every ten people in the United Kingdom, and falls under the category of a common ailment. The fair sex, seem to be more prone to depression.

Depression is a sign of mental illness, and life at that time can seem absolutely worthless, marked with negative energy, that even borders around suicidal tendencies. According to Doctors, an aberration in the brain chemistry causes the depression, which is perhaps ignited by stress, bereavement, physical illness or drug abuse.

The silver lining to this common ailment is that, it is definitely treatable. Mild depression can be offset by lifestyle changes that include sensible and healthy eating combined with regular exercise. Anti-depressants can come to the rescue of cases with moderate or severe depression combined with counselling and psychotherapy. The antidepressants are not addictive in most of the cases.
