Sleeping disorder risk factor for heart attacks

Professor Douglas Bradley and his colleagues from Toronto General Hospital Sleep Research laboratory have found that people who have sleeping disorders have an increased risk of developing heart attacks // . People with sleep apnea have increased risk of stroke and treating their sleeping disorder can reduce the risk of developing stroke. The study was conducted in 1,475 people aged between 30 and 60 and grouped based on their sleeping habits, age, sex, body mass index, alcohol, breathing disorders and smoking habits. The study results showed that people with sleeping disorders had an increased risk of developing stroke in their lifetime. The study results were published in the Journal American Journal of Respiratory and Critical care Medicine.
