Single Women with Baby Cravings Can Actually Cradle their Own, Courtesy NHS

Single Women who wish to have children of their own are growing in number, and this has led to a novel scheme whereby single women in their 30’s and 40’s desirous of having a child are going to be given free fertility treatment on the National Health Service.//

Hospital administration is re-working the policy to help women have children without their partners. Camden primary care trust in London will spearhead the initiation of free treatment for single women due to growing demand from childless but financially stable would-be mothers. Camden will be listed as perhaps one of the first trusts in the country to take a bold yet highly controversial move.

According to insider reports, this will set a precedent and would inspire other trusts to take cues from this bold move. Presently, all focus has been given to treatment for childless couples. The source said: "There have been several assessments of whether it would be appropriate and these have all been very positive."

On the one hand, free treatment for single women will kindle the views of various schools of thought about the necessity of a father in child rearing, and will lend a whole new perspective to family definitions in the 21st century. Of course one cannot dismiss the abundance of joy it will bring to thousands of women sobriquet as SadFabs (single and desperate for a baby).
