Sexually Abused Girls Develop Eating Disorders

Girls sexually abused before the age of 16 developed eating disorders and had high concerns about shape and weight later in their life. Research had shown that a study conduced in 10,000 women more than 2,000 women had unwanted sex before the age of 16 developed later in their life symptoms of eating disorders//.

Woman expressed happiness and did not worry much about weight gain and change in body shape after pregnancy almost 7,900 women in the study recalled happily they were less likely to worry about their shape or weight but the study showed that sexually abused girls were psychologically very disturbed and expressed negative fears about weight gain and change in body shape during pregnancy.

Of the 2,000 women in the study who reported sexually abused in their teens 300 women had symptoms of eating disorders and 600 women had high concerns about weight gain and change in body shape during pregnancy.
