Professor Susan Sherman and Researchers from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health has started a new program called Jewelry Education for Women Empowering their Lives (JEWEL) as rehabilitation program for drug using women in Baltimore. //

The program is specially started for providing income to drug using women involved in prositutes by providing them with alternate income through making, marketing and selling Jewelry.

The program was conducted in drug using prostitutes in Baltimore, the women in the study reported that they earned more than $7,000 by selling jewelry and the women reported after involving in the project more than 30% of women stopped taking drugs and in sex trade.
