Scots Had The Lowest Life Expectancy In UK

The Scottish effect is said to contribute to the low life expectancy of Scottish people who have an average lifetime of 69.3 years which is the lowest in United Kingdom where the countries average life expectancy stands at 77 years for men and 81 years for women//.

The low life expectancy of the working class of Scottish people is said to be due to increased smoking and lack of exercise which leads to two main death cause lung cancer and heart attacks. The survey results were based on statistics taken from three years average deaths and population information from 2002-2004 taken by The Office for National Statistics.
