Sci-Fi to come true in OT’s: Patients treated with blood drawn out

In a major Sci-fi breakthrough to medical science, doctors under the leadership of Dr Hasan Alam, a trauma surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, would perform surgery on patients while they// are in a state between life and death. The blood would be drained out from their bodies while the surgery is being performed and then it would be returned back once the process is complete.

The return of blood would be done after warming the blood up.

As reported in the New Scientist magazine the experiment has already been successful in pigs and it is hoped human trials will start soon.

The best area where this method could be adopted would be in saving lives of gunshot and car accident victims and patients suffering other life-threatening wounds that have caused severe blood loss.

The fundamental behind this unique method is to cool the body to temperatures where the oxygen needs of the body are minimum and avoid organ failure due to oxygen lack.
