Risk of prostate cancer lowered by soyabean

A 30% decrease in the risk of developing prostate cancer was observed in people// on a high intake of soy. This increase intake is also beneficial in lower death rate amongst prostate cancer patients.

The analysis is based on the data from eight population studies, five from America & Canada and 3 from Asian countries. All these studies investigated the effect of soy protein intake on prostate cancer.

These results are in consonance with those done exclusively in US which stated that soy protein showed a 4 times higher protective quality than any other dietary source.

The study was conducted by Dr. Lin Yan, director of cancer research for The Solae Company and Dr. Edward Spitznagel, professor of mathematics at Washington University.
