Rethinking on Best Times for Delivery of Twins

Scientists do not second the idea of early delivery of twins, much in contrast with the delivery timing for single babies. Though earlier research had indicated the// likelihood of risks if twins are delivered after 40 weeks, new research seems to be pointing at grave risks with an early delivery.

A University of Ottawa, Canada research team found that the most appropriate time to deliver twins was between 38 and 39 weeks. This does not compare well with the practice in United Kingdom, where twins are delivered at 37 to 38 weeks. A finding also reported that twins delivered at 37 weeks showed a 17% chance of requiring ventilation for their lungs, than the babies delivered in 39 weeks.

Doctors are still skeptical and feel that more research is needed to prove this finding.
