Radiologists Find New CT Scans Useful

Radiologists are enabled to get more detailed images of the human body as a result of technological advances made in CT scanners, which also serves to reduce the number of tests which a patient has to undergo. // Back in 1987, patients had to undergo a series of stress tests and uncomfortable angiograms before going for a bypass surgery.

But recent advances in the technology are bringing about a dramatic rise in image quality and allowing CT scan devices to produce more information.

All this is thanks largely to computed tomography (CT) scanners, which are becoming the cornerstone of any hospital's radiology department, according to Michael Vannier, professor of radiology at the University of Chicago Hospital.
