Rabies Requires Immediate Treatment

The human central nervous system gets affected by rabies which is transmitted through the saliva of the infected animals. Immediate medical attention // is required for a person who is bitten by a dog, cat, bat, ferret, or raccoon which is rabid. If bite from an animal is unprovoked, it is safer to assume that it is rabid, and get the animal tested for the infection. If found infected, the animal has to be killed instantly.

The bite injury should be washed thoroughly and medical attention should be sought at the earliest. It is a disease which is extremely difficult cure, so it is always safer to avoid contact with animals which are suspected to be rabid. The transmission of the disease through bats is the most dangerous as bite marks of the bat are difficult to locate, and the victim comes to get to know of his condition only when it is too late.

Treatment of the infection can be effective if it is attended to immediately without any delay.
