The number of cases of a new form of deadly pneumonia is on the rise especially in China, Hong Kong and Canada, The SARS virus was first detected in South China Asia and is now spreading across the world. As per reports from the World Health Organization the follwing cases of SARS that have led to fatality.These are the most up-to-date details as of May 23://
Total number of probable cases: 8,046
Confirmed death toll: 683
Australia: 6 cases.
Brazil: 2 cases.
Canada: 140 cases. 24 dead.
China: 5,271 cases. 300 dead.
Colombia: 1 case.
Finland: 1 case.
France: 7 cases.
Germany: 9 cases.
Hong Kong (Special Administrative Region): 1,722 cases. 258 dead.
India: 3 case.
Indonesia: 2 cases.
Ireland: 1 case
Italy: 9 cases.
Kuwait: 1 case.
Macau (Special Administrative Region): 2 cases.
Malaysia: 8 cases. 2 dead.
Mongolia: 9 cases.
New Zealand: 1 case.
Philippines: 12 cases. 2 dead.
Poland: 1 case.
Romania: 1 case.
Singapore: 206 cases. 29 dead.
South Africa: 1 case. 1 dead.
South Korea: 3 cases.
Spain: 1 case.
Sweden: 3 cases.
Switzerland: 1 case.
Taiwan: 483 cases reported. 65 dead.
Thailand: 7 cases. 2 dead.
United Kingdom: 4 cases.
United States: 67 cases.
Vietnam: 63 cases. 5 dead.

Medical Staff have been adviced to wear protective masks while treating their patients.
