Personalized Genetics: Unraveling the Secret Code to Good Health.

A path breaking research by American scientists in the area of personalized genetics will soon enable people with the esoteric knowledge of their distinct biological make-up. //This will be possible by scanning and deciphering the genome, and list out an individual’s complete genetic composition.

This is indeed a major achievement that can bring about significant improvements in the lives of patients, permitting the medical specialists to advice them based on the genetic make-up.

David Schwartz, a professor of genetics at the University of Wisconsin, is optimistic that in the next three years, his lab will enable the deciphering of a genome within one hour , for a cost $US100. 'Some of this information is going to be hard to hear, but doctors will have to interpret it in such a way that they can advise patients on the risks they face without them feeling condemned to a heart attack or Alzheimer's,' he said.
