Doctors warn the number of New Zealanders who take party pills in higher doses as a new trend. Some manufacturers and authorities argued taking// party pills escape people from taking drugs.

Nearly 20% of 13-45 years aged people have used the pill atleast once – says researchers commissioned by the Ministry of Health.

Side effects from both physical and psychological parts such as sleeplessness, loss of appetite, strange thoughts and irritability, troubled people who use party pills.

Research on this subject needs no follow up since lots have been evidenced already – said Dr Paul Gee, an emergency physician at Christchurch Hospital.

A spokesman, Matt Bowden, exclaimed more side effects are noticed in pill users than drug users.

When researchers surveyed 2,010 people they found party pill users mostly come around the age group of 18 to 24-years.
