Parents Often Unaware Of Kids' Alcohol Abuse And Drug Dependence

Researchers at the Washington University School of Medicine say in a new study that parents are unaware of how often their children abuse alcohol and drugs. //In a survey of 591 children aged 12 to 17, the researchers found that parents underestimated the level of their children’s abuse habits.

Even among those children who had clear signs of drug abuse, their parents were unaware of it the study said. Details can be found in the journal Alcoholism: Clinical & Experimental Research.
